How to make Elderflower Syrup

I have found a new blog which I am completly in love with, mainly because it has some really great crafts on it and I like nothing better than making something from scratch.  Here is how to make Elderflower syrup, I'll be making it tomorrow! Can't wait!

Kitchen Time

So after 5 years of trying to convince my boyfriend to have a new kitchen I think I may have just made a break through.  Surprising what making him a birthday tea and having 2 bottles of Sancerre can do!! So now I have been trawling the internet to find a kitchen that will work in our space.  These are my inspirations so far from John Lewis of Hungerford and Harvey Jones.

This month I love ...

When I go out I always miss a good clutch ... from my outfit!! I have a few large trusty handbags that come with me everywhere but never a dainty bag. I love this one, sophisticated and girly but still showing I mean business!! These jars from Miss Etoile are beautiful and I may have a go at making some myself. I really love these correspondence cards I think they are so unique at a really reasonable price!

Love is in the air...

Now Christmas is over I'm already thinking about the next opportunity where I have the chance to spend money on gifts! Here are a few of my favourite picks of Valentine gifts. Its true that even the most die hard romantics would concede that "Valentines Day" is bombarded with naff gift ideas, but this rope swing which can be engraved with your own message, don von gingerbread lady and rock chick ring will make you change your mind I'm sure.

Made....

.... in heaven! This fair trade jewellery made in a Nairobi workshop in Kenya is my jewellery of choice at the moment. with a "trade not aid" philosophy it gives people in Africa a chance to make better lives for themselves whilst the jewellery really is stunning. I bought two necklaces and some bangles from Laura Bailey for Made and now I'm hankering after this charm bracelet and these rings for my birthday!

Wedding Bells!

My cousin is getting married tomorrow and I have been asked to do a reading! I have found this beautiful quote out of Captain Corelli's Mandolin, what you think?

Love is a temporary madness
It erupts like volcanoes and then subsides
And when it subsides you have to make a decision
You have to work out whether your roots are so entwined together
that it is inconceivable that you should ever part.

Because that is what love is.
Love is not breathlessness,
It is not excitement,
it is not the promulgation of eternal passion.
That is just “being in love” which any fool can do.

Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away
and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.
Those that truly love, have roots that grow towards each other underground,
and when all the pretty blossom have fallen from their branches,
they find that they are one tree and not two.
